Gecko Homes asked Cast Can to help humanise shared ownership and cut through category noise with authentic storytelling. The brief was clear: move beyond brochure-led marketing and let real customers tell the story of how shared ownership changed their lives.
Our objective was to build trust, advocacy and consideration by creating cinematic, documentary-style content that felt honest, emotive and credible, while still performing hard across digital channels. The approach centred on real homeowners, real homes and real conversations, captured with a filmic sensibility and designed to work across multiple formats and platforms.
This was not a campaign about selling homes. It was about giving people confidence to take the first step.

Shared Ownership Stories placed customers at the heart of the brand. We identified genuine Gecko Homes buyers, spent time understanding their journeys, and shaped short-form documentary films around their lived experiences, why they chose shared ownership, how it felt, and what it unlocked for them.
The tone was deliberately cinematic rather than commercial. Intimate interviews, natural light, considered pacing and understated graphics created content that felt premium, human and believable advocacy rather than advertising.
Authenticity mattered. We showed the work in progress, camera tests, location scouting, rough cuts and real-time collaboration with the client. This ‘behind the scenes’ transparency reinforced the honesty of the final output and brought Gecko Homes into the creative process as a true partner.
Where production was involved, we documented it: filming in occupied homes, capturing unscripted moments, and shaping multiple edits from a single shoot to maximise value and flexibility across channels.

Each asset was crafted to work standalone, but together they told a cohesive brand story. Shared Ownership, seen through the eyes of the people living it. Short-format documentary films, cinematic hero edits and cut-downs, social-first vertical and square formats, paid and organic digital assets and narrative-led content designed for reuse and longevity.
