INDEPENDENT PEER REVIEW OF MILTON KEYNES DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP (MKDP)
Supporting the 1.5M New Homes Campaign
Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP) needed a website case study that could communicate a complex policy and placemaking story in a clear, compelling and credible way.
The challenge wasn’t simply to present information, it was to shape a narrative around why Milton Keynes is succeeding where many places struggle: delivering homes, infrastructure and long-term growth at scale.
Using filmed interviews, policy analysis and a 22-page independent peer review report, Cast Can created a long-form digital case study designed to support the wider 1.5M New Homes campaign and position MKDP as a nationally significant delivery model.
One of the strongest insights from the report was MKDP’s role as a “translator” between political ambition and commercial delivery.
We used direct interview-led storytelling to bring this concept to life through real project examples, particularly the Campbell Park scheme involving Urban Splash and Packaged Living

Key themes we helped communicate
The content highlighted meaurable outcomes:
-
1,400 homes enabled
-
36% affordable housing across surburban schemes
-
A £150m+ asset base
-
£2m - £2.5m annual dividend returns to the council
-
Zero debt

The Upshot
The finished project created a flagship digital asset with a clearer national narrative around the Milton Keynes model. In addition to the work being an accessible, long term piece for stakeholders and partners, it is a reusable comms tool that can be used across presentations, PR and policy engagement. It also lays the foundation for future campaign storytelling through video content
